New Home

Hello there,
I am running late with my blog post today I'm afraid! Apologies :-)
A couple of weeks ago my friend and fellow Jems team mate Jeannette moved house so I of course had to get into my craft room and make her a little card wishing her well :-D
and so this is what I came up with...
It is a pocket style card and as I made it I photographed the process so tomorrows post will be a little tutorial for this ;-)
Here it is out of the pocket
the eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed it actually is very similar to Laura's card she made for Jeannette, I can promise you we didn't know about each others card 'till I saw hers on her blog yesterday and she will see mine in a minute I'm sure! Funny how it goes ;-)
Anyway, enough waffle for one day, I am busy getting ready for my All Day Class and booking up workshops, message me if you would like me to come along and share some SU! ideas with you and your friends :-)

Everyday Enchantment with Elementary Elegance

WOW! That's a lot of E's!! but for today's card that's just what I used, the gorgeous FREE stamps and papers available exclusively during sale-a-bration (untill the end of March)
I made a square card with a very basic layout but with a lot of details on each section so plenty of pics for you today ;-)
Fun flowers die made the flower with an antique brad in the centre
a mini vintage tag filled with the friends stamp from the tiny tags stamp set
some crowns....
and butterflies...
and the frame and sentiment, all from the Elementary Elegance SAB stamp set,
Poppy Parade twill ribbon ruffle across the centre adds a splash of colour
and another fun flower inside to finish
Well, that's today's card for you,
If you are interested in coming along to a class (last day tomorrow to book for Feb all day class) and playing with some stamps, placing an order to get your own FREE stamps or thinking about joining SU! and getting even more FREE stamps then please email me sarah-janerae*at*sky*dot*com for more details or just a chat. 3 of the same!

Happy Saturday to you!
It's my weekend off work and I am really looking forward to spending some time with the family this weekend, might even be able to squeeze a bit of crafting in at some point too!
Last week though there were 3 Jems (team) birthdays and being a bit short of time I decided to make 3 of the same cards :-)
I really wanted to use the stamp set Everything Elanor, love this set ;-)
The colour combo of Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant with Lucky Limeade came from the colour coach, I will definately be using this one again!
So, I stamped the large swirl onto the Wisteria Wonder card before embossing it with the Vintage Wallpaper folder in the big shot,
I also spritzed this layer with shimmer paint mixed with alcohol to make a spray...sparkly!
This cute frame has lines (for journalling) in it so I just inked the outer edge using my markers to omit these, then I punced it out using the new 2+3/8" scallop circle punch before adding the sentiment from Petit Pairs and a knot of ruffled ribbons
Inside I stamped 2 flowers and then on scrap stamped the third, before adding it with dimensionals
and here are all three together
I hope you enjoyed todays cards and also that the 3 ladies who received them had a wonderful day too!
We are off to town in a bit to get Zoe some new school shoes, wishing you a fab Saturday whatever you are up to ;-)

Ruffled Ribbon Rose Tutorial

As promised I am here today with a very simple and quick tutorial for this little ribbon rose I made on yesterdays card. HERE is the post. This flower uses SU! In colour 2011-2013 ruffled ribbon in Pool Party, yum!
So, to begin with punch out a 3/4" circle of any coloured card and cover it with sticky strip or other strong adhesive
Take a length of ribbon between 24-30 cm, and tie a knot at the end
shown left is the 30cm length and right is 24cm length of ribbon
Fray the end slightly and pull the white cotton thread from the bottom of the ribbon {see pic} to ruffle
Keep pulling the thread and pushing the ruffle along the length of the ribbon until the ribbon is approximately 14cm long
Take the knotted end of the ribbon and adhere it to the punched circle, knot down
and simply turn the circle and stick down,
when you reach the end do not be tempted to fold it around, leave it straight and just stick the thread to the reverse
Flatten and tweak 'till your happy ;-)
And that's it! I love making these ribbon flowers and I hope you do too ;-)
If you make one and add it to a card or scrapbook page then please do share it with me, I love to see your creations :-)

I made the cute skirt from the NEW 2+3/8" scallop circle punch from the spring mini and the top of the dress is from  the tab punch which I cut down at the sides and finished by adhering a bow made from 3mm ribbon
Calypso Coral bow
and a few little flowers filled with rhinestones to finish in the corner

Postage Stamp Punch

and Happy Saturday to you! I had my Valentines class this morning with some lovely ladies, thanks for coming ladies! I am running this class Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday too if you would like to join us I can put you a kit together no probs, just email me to join the fun :-)
So, today's card is a small card I made using the new Postage Stamp punch and matching Perfect Postage stamp set, both on page 20 of the mini catalogue.
I used a base of Island Indigo with Baja Breeze and Rich Razzleberry wide striped grosgrain ribbon,
I stamped the words from Charming stamp set in Versamark down the left hand side of the card and made the slot using the word window punch for the ribbon to go through
I am using these as Thank-You cards so I made a half dozen, they are mostly gone now though ;-)
Short and sweet but I hope you have enjoyed today's creations,
Also, don't forget to book your place at the ALL DAY craft event Laura and I am hosting in February!
There will be Cards, a Brag Book, a fab Raffle, Prizes, Cakes (always!) and plenty of fun too!!!
I will be back tomorrow with some more card fun for you
