Five Days of Stampin' Up! Note Cards; Day One. Using Your Perfect Day

Hello,
In continuation of the Note Card Box Video I shared with you yesterday I want to share the designs of note cards I made for class. Now, before we begin, they are not a co-ordinated set of notes! The idea of this class was to have a little note to pop in when you wish to send a friend a gift, message or something small in the post and you want to add in a message. It was an idea that my Mum actually had as she often pops things in the post to her friends who live all over the country and so this class was born ;-)
So, lets start with this white note card and I used the Your Perfect Day stamp set from the Spring/Summer catty. This is a wedding-y set but with this sentiment from Butterfly Basics it is easily used as a pretty all occasion set, take a look...
The idea was to keep these note cards nice and flat so there are no pearls or ribbon to be found here!
These flowers are in Crisp Cantaloupe with the wreath stamped in Pistachio Pudding (both now retired) but, as a demo, I have seen a sneak peek or two of the new colours and I can't wait to share these with you very soon!
We did also decorate each envelope, not something I usually make time for  - but they sure do look pretty ;-)
To see all the Notecards (after five days ;-)) please click HERE or on the "Five Days.." label at the end of this post. And to see the VIDEO for the box that fits these cards in, please click HERE
Well, I hope you have enjoyed today's card and that you'll pop back and see the others over the next few days.

New Video Tutorial for a Note Card Keeper Box to fit SU! notecards.

Hello!
So, life has been crazy this week here (again) with number 3 child going away this week with school for the first time (eek!), classes and a couple of commissions for a magazine to get finished so unfortunately this blog post has been pushed down the list a couple of times, sorry! I have however managed to make a new video but it was taking so long to upload last night (from about 8.30pm and still uploading at 11.30) that I left it and went to bed ;-)
I designed this little box for this weeks class to fit SU! notecards in.
**Edit to add: To see the 5 days of Note Cards we made to fit in this box, please CLICK HERE**
This first one was made with Strawberry Slush card was stamped using Gorgeous Grunge and wrapped in thick twine...
Unfortunately this In Colour is now sold out. I'm going to really miss this colour but I've made two alternative designs, shown in the video, which I will also post on here as soon as I get a chance to photograph them.
This would make a great gift set
Or simply somewhere to keep your own note cards dust free before you use them!
OK, time for the video
And as promised here are the measurements for you:

A4 Short side: Score at 2.5cm, 12.5cm cut at 15cm. Keep excess for lid.
Long Side: Score at 12cm, 14.5cm cut at 26.5cm. Excess here is waste.
First piece of excess used to make lid. Long side: Score at 1cm, 11.3cm, 13.9cm, 24.2cm cut at 26.8, excess is waste.
Short side: Score at 2.7cm
DSP: 9.4cm wide x 11.3cm for the front of box and 2.8cm for the lid.

To find this tutorial again easily please PIN this photo!
Please watch the video for full details on how to assemble :-)
Well, I hope you enjoyed that? Please do let me know!

Using Stampin' Up's Pleasant Poppies for a Spotlight Technique

Hi there,
Todays post shares with you a card we made at class a couple of weeks ago. Sadly this is one of the stamp sets that SU! retired this week and it's sold out already but I thought I would still share this with you just in case you are lucky enough to own this stamp already ;-)
We stamped this section a second time before colouring it with blender pens and ink pads
This sentiment is actually from Guy Greetings!
It works great for girls cards too when stamped in a pretty colour don't you think?
This heart shape was from the now retiring hearts collection framelits.
They are currently available at half price right now: Link at the end of this post
 A side view
and a top view to finish
Well, that's all from me for today, I hope you have enjoyed the card and please pop back tomorrow for a new Two minute Tuesday Video...
...And for a sneak peek at what I'm sharing take a look at my Instagram Page ;-)

Football (Soccer) Birthday Card using Stampin' Up's Circle Thinlits Flip Die.

Hello,
Advanced Warning: This is Picture Heavy Post, grab a cuppa ;-)
Yesterday was my friends son's 11th Birthday and he is football crazy. I have made many football birthday cards over the years and so I had to come up with something new and a bit different this year so I turned to the Circle Thinlits Die and some of the Adventure Bound DSP stack which, handily, has a few sheets of this fun grass paper - perfect for this card!
I started with a Garden Green tri-fold circle thinlits die cut and added panels of the grass paper.
To make these footballs I glued hexagon punched white and black card to crumb cake card, punched the "ball" out using the 2+1/2" circle punch and inked the edges with a sponge and some crumb cake ink
Some black chevron ribbon flags inside. This ribbon is retiring :-( but on the upside it is now just £4.13 a roll, but only while stocks last!
These banner punch outs are cut from some (retired) Christmas DSP and I added numbers using the Back to Basics Alphabet stamp set
A little collage of some more of the card including the back ;-)
All supplies are listed at the end of this post.
And it folds to fit a standard sized C6 envelope too (sorry this pics not great though!)
I glued the ribbon to these kebab sticks using my hot glue gun
and one last pic of the football to finish ;-)
Well, the birthday boy liked his card and there were smiles all round :-)
Thanks as ever for looking today,
Please pop over to my shop for some last minute bargains in the clearance and remember to use the hostess code for orders under £150 to receive a little gift from me too.
